Nevada Revised Statutes (NRS) 389.036 mmandates that a Sex Education Advisory Committee (SEAC) to the Board of School Trustees for all school districts be established. Clark County School District (District) Regulation 6123 and Policy 6123, Instruction on the Human Immunodeficiency Virus, Human Reproductive System, Related Communicable Diseases, and Sexual Responsibility, state that the Board of School Trustees shall appoint an advisory committee consisting of the following representation for a two-year term:
1. Five parents/guardians of children who attend schools in the Clark County School District (District). 2. Four representatives, one from each of four of the following professions or occupations: Medicine or nursing, Counseling, Religion, Pupils who attend school in the District, Teaching. 3. Two students will be appointed as non-voting members to serve as a resource to the committee.
SEAC is looking to fill the following vacancies: medicine or nursing, counseling, religion, teaching, five (5) parents/guardians, and two (2) students.
Additionally, as per the SEAC Bylaws, there shall be no more than two SEAC voting members from one Trustee?s voting district.
District C currently has two voting members, therefore no applications for voting members shall be accepted from District C.
All applications must be submitted electronically via the SEAC Application Google form no later than 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 12, 2025. No exceptions will be made.
Applications will be accepted beginning Friday, May 9, 2025, and must be submitted electronically via the SEAC Application Google Form no later than 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 12, 2025. Regular meetings of the Board of School Trustees are held the second and fourth Thursday of each month beginning at 5:00 p.m. and Work Sessions are held on the first Wednesday of the month at 4:00 p.m. Meetings are subject to change. All meetings can be viewed live stream a ccsd.net on the day of the meeting. Special board meetings are held when necessary and are posted in advance in accordance with the Nevada open meeting law.

The Clark County Board of School Trustees is a dedicated group of community leaders who are elected to overlapping four-year terms and represent a specific geographic region of Clark County. Although each trustee represents a different region, they are dedicated to ensuring the success of every student in the district through clear, concise direction to the superintendent. The trustees bring a wealth of experience and concern for children to their position.

The Board of School Trustees recognizes that its deliberative process benefits greatly from public input and perspective. Those wishing to address the Board in person may sign up to speak once the agenda has been posted by calling the Board Office at (702) 799-1072 during regular business hours and at least 8 business hours prior to the scheduled start of the meeting.
Alternatively, speakers may sign up in person immediately prior to the beginning of the meeting. To minimize distractions, no additional speakers may sign up once the Board President has introduced the agenda item. Customarily, speakers will be called in the order in which they signed up.
Members of the public are permitted to provide public comment on any agenda item requiring Board action after staff presentations and discussion by the Board, but before the Board votes on the item. Speakers will be given 3 minutes to address the Board and shall remain on topic. The Consent Agenda is considered a single action item with a 3 minute speaker limit per individual no matter how many sub-items the individual wishes to comment on.
A public comment period will be offered immediately prior to the adjournment of the meeting for members of the public who wish to speak on matters that are within the jurisdiction of the Board but not listed as an action item on the agenda. Each individual wishing to speak during this period will be given 3 minutes to address the Board.
Written public comments may be submitted to boardmtgcomments@nv.ccsd.net after the agenda has been posted and at least 8 business hours prior to the scheduled start of the meeting. Any written comments received after the deadline and prior to the meeting adjourning will be uploaded to BoardDocs within the appropriate item on the next business day.
